Our volunteers feel that no matter what role they play or how much time they give, their efforts positively impact the tools our teachers use and provide life-changing initiatives that enhance how students in our district learn.  The foundation is managed by a board of directors who are all volunteer lay leaders dedicated to supporting 21st century learning that offers our students the opportunities to succeed in a competitive, global economy. We encourage you to explore our volunteer opportunities and consider lending a hand.

The board of directors is made up of a group of volunteers who are responsible for policy, strategic planning, fundraising and the distribution of funds. To strengthen the partnership between the foundation and the school, two members of the School Board of Education and the district’s superintendent hold seats on foundation board. Members of the board are expected to attend monthly meetings, which are typically held the third Wednesday of every month during the school year, and special events such as the annual meeting and Wild for Orange fundraiser.

We look beyond our board of directors to help fulfill the foundation’s mission to support, enhance and promote excellence in education at Orange Schools. Volunteering on a committee allows for flexibility in the time you are able to give and tasks to which you can contribute. Through our seven standing committees, volunteers develop initiatives and assist in implementation.

Board Development/Governance Committee – Ensure effective board processes, structures and roles, committee development and board evaluation, nominating, orientation, training.

Marketing/PR Committee – Oversees development and implementation of the marketing plan, identifies potential markets, their needs, and how to meet those needs with products/services/programs, and how to promote/sell those programs. Also manages website and social media and works closely with Fund Development Committee to promote events and support fundraising efforts
