VOLUNTEER

I make impact plays. I make game-changing plays. – Lebron James

That’s how the all of us who volunteer for Orange Schools Foundation feel. No matter what our role or how much time we are able to give, we know that our efforts positively impact the tools our teachers use and provide game-changing initiatives that enhance how students in our district learn. The foundation is managed by a board of directors who are all volunteer lay leaders dedicated to supporting 21st century learning that offers our students the opportunities to succeed in a competitive, global economy. We encourage you to explore our volunteer opportunities and consider lending a hand.

Board of Directors

The board of directors is made up of a group of volunteers who are responsible for policy, strategic planning, fundraising and the distribution of funds. To strengthen the partnership between the foundation and the school, two members of the School Board of Education and the district’s superintendent hold seats on foundation board. Members of the board are expected to attend monthly meetings, which are typically held the third Wednesday of every month during the school year, and special events such as the annual meeting and Wild for Orange fundraiser.

We are always looking for good board members who want to make a positive impact in Orange City School District. Of particular interest are those who have experiences or skills in fund development, marketing, finance/estate planning and community relations.

Board Committees

We look beyond our board of directors to help fulfill the foundation’s mission to support, enhance and promote excellence in education at Orange Schools. Through our six standing committees, volunteers develop initiatives and assist in implementation. Some recent projects include revamping the grant submission process, creating a new website, soliciting feedback from the community via survey, and exploring additional ways to impact the district such as capital campaigns and partnering with area STEM-related corporations.

Volunteering on a committee allows for flexibility in the time you are able to give and tasks to which you can contribute. We currently have a particular need for additional members for our fund development and marketing committees. Assistance needed includes brand awareness, storytelling, community awareness, alumni relations, social media posting, website content management, fundraising, corporate relations, donor relations, financial planning and corporate giving.

Volunteer At An Event

Wild for Orange is our annual fundraising event for the district. Now in its fourth year, its success is largely in part to the dozens of volunteers who help with all the plans leading up the big night in addition to those willing to give a little bit of time during the event.

This school year’s Wild for Orange is March 18, 2017 at Terrace Club at Progressive Field. Help us take Orange Schools to a new league by volunteering on a committee or at the event. Committee members are currently planning and are looking for additional help. For more information complete the contact form or contact Debbie Arnold at 216-789-5590.
